Peter F. Olesen and Associates, Inc. is a firm uniquely qualified to provide an ongoing flow of services from your preliminary concept development and initial planning stages through final design.  In addition we offer assistance to contractors during the construction phase and ongoing consulting services once your facility is up and running.

 

The firm has more than 23 years of specific experience in the design of indoor/outdoor family entertainment centers (FECs), miniature golf courses, concession go-kart tracks, bumper boat ponds, batting cages, picnic areas, golf driving ranges and related indoor/outdoor attractions.  Our services include the development of concepts and master planning for FECs, including assistance in determining specific attractions, creation of optimized building floor plans and the design of indoor miniature golf courses, concession go-kart tracks and indoor kart racing facilities.  In addition, the firm performs feasibility studies for a wide range of family entertainment oriented projects.

 

Staff expertise includes theme park and FEC master planning and attraction design, golf driving range design, development of optimum guest flow patterns, traffic impact and feasibility studies, master planning and related work.  Our engineers and support staff have many years of experience in the performance of projects for our clients.  Over the years the firm has become an industry leader in the development of state of the art miniature golf courses, concession go-kart tracks, bumper boat ponds and related FEC attractions.

 

With the broad range of experience gained through working on more than 330 FEC projects, working with state regulatory agencies, participation in industry trade associations  and participation in numerous industry seminars (stand alone and at tradeshows) we provide our clients with a wealth of experience and expertise.

 

In addition to the family entertainment industry, the firm also provides a wide variety of civil engineering services for governmental agencies and private industry clients.  We provide survey, design and construction engineering services on many general civil engineering projects.  These include projects for the Illinois Department of Transportation, Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, various communities in Northeastern Illinois, major development and management corporations, small developers and individual entrepreneurs.

 

Civil engineering services include highway design, topographic and route surveys, roadway and bridge rehabilitation, parking studies and design, land planning, site grading, complete water distribution systems, sanitary sewers and wastewater systems, storm water management systems, flood studies and traffic engineering; and as construction engineering services for highway construction, roadway rehabilitation, residential developments, and commercial and  industrial projects.

 

Key staff members have extensive experience in working with regulatory agencies and municipalities from concept through final design and construction.  This includes the planning and zoning process, presentations at all types of public meetings and hearings, preparation of permit applications and various elements of the construction and acceptance phases.
